Local Band’s CD: Give it a spin
On scale of 1 to 10 the amp cranked to 8
The Bentley Fillmore Band is an acoustic rock band that, if nothing else, can be described as “musically tight.” There is a good blend of 12 string, and 6 string acoustic, electric, and bass guitars.
On their self-titled album, The Bentley Fillmore Band, strikes up a sound just outside of Tom Petty, Skinnard, and even a little Pink Floyd. The quintet has a mature sound and some pretty good groves. At first listen to their album you don’t quite realize it. Go back and listen to it a second time and it’ll hit you up side the head “hey these guys are good.”
The song Give It Up, track number eight, is catchy and funny; a must hear for anyone in a bad mood. Track four, Loaded Gun, has a definite rock edge to it. A good song to crank up on your way home from work on a Friday.
The first track Red Light Green Light, has a beat and a groove that’s easy to fall into. If you want to hear the cry of a guitar being played just right, then turn to track three, What Makes Her Cry.
To wrap up your listening experience the band throws in track five, Alive. This song makes you reflect inward a little, it’s kind of slow and surreal, not to mention it has a good sound.
